Marc has a sensational voice but what people have to understand is that he was doing his part in a movie and he had to be Hector Lavoe for the audience to believe the part. He did an awesome job he hit the nail on the head. Marc does his songs his way on his albums this is a soundtrack people of course he has a bigger range and thats what sells his albums this is a movie about Hector Lavoe so he needed to be Hector Lavoe case closed. Two different styles two great singers.
A great CD. Marc Anthony at his best. Last song by J Lo just ok.
He did one hell of a job and deserves a lot of credit. I have never really been a Jennifer Lopez fan, which is what initially stopped me from seeing the movie at the movie theatre. I fell in love with the movie and could not believe the excellent performances by both Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez. No one can act exactly like someone else without spilling over a bit of their own personality and emotions into a role, however, in this case he made Hector look and sound even better. Hector was the salsa King in his day, and Marc Anthony is today's salsa KING. I became obsessive with the movie and found myself wanting to hear the music all of the time.
I think Hector would have been proud. When the movie came out on HBO, I figured I would give it a chance, and I am so glad that I did. I could not think of anyone else who would have been more appropriate to play the role of Hector LaVoe than Marc Anthony. I read some of the reviews in Amazon before I purchased the CD, and the one comment that convinced me to purchase it was that if you like salsa, you will love the CD. I must say, I could not believe the negative comments that I read and felt that they were really unfair and harsh toward Marc Anthony. Marc really gives Hector's music justice and brings so much passion to the screen.
Thank you Marc.
Definetly worth while. This product was shipped in a timely manner. Great condition and an excellent CD. The case was in excellent condition. I seemed like it was brand new.
